There are several studies which prove and experts who explain that if your child is healthy, then fever is nothing to worry about because it works to fight off infection which causes the child to be sick.
Still, there are few of steps you may take if your child is burning up and is uncomfortable. Remember that if the fever lasts for more than several days then you need to visit a pediatrician.
In these ways you can lower your child’s fever in less than 5 minutes:
Brandy water – use one cup of brandy and dilute it with water. Soak gauze in this combination and place it in your kid’s socks.
Remove layers of clothing – if you follow this tip the kid will decrease high temperature very easy through its skin. Light layers are recommended. If the kid is shaking then cover it with only a light blanket until it is warm again.
Give your child a sponge bath or lukewarm bath. When the water evaporates through the skin, then it will begin cooling the child and decrease the temperature. Don`t use cold water because it will cause the child to start shivering and cause the body temperature to increase.
The kid needs to drink plenty of fluids and eat chilled foods such as yogurt and ice pops which will refresh the body from the inside and in the same time will maintain the organism hydrated.

Use a fan – keep it at a low setting and have it circulate the air around the child, than blow directly at it
Another solution is to place a damp and cool washcloth on the forehead while the child rests.
If the kid is younger than 3 months and suffers from fever, you should take it directly to the doctor. Also, you must call or visit the doctor if the temperature is 101 degrees or higher. For 6 months old baby you should call the doctor if the temperature is 102 degrees.
If you notice are any serious symptoms such as difficulties in breathing or purple spots on the skin, call the doctor, no matter the age because that may be a sign of serious bacterial infection.
