Keeping the house smelling good not only makes it a more pleasant space but helps it appear cleaner and more attractive. To keep their homes in an immaculate state, most women opt for store-bought cleaners and deodorizers, such as air-fresheners or scented candles. However, these scented products are often laden with harsh chemicals that can do more harm than good. In fact, there’s been mounting evidence that inhaling these scents can cause headaches, dizziness as well as respiratory issues.
If we choose the much healthier route, we will not only protect the lungs of the members of our family, but we will also create the products by ourselves.
In the following video, you are going to learn how to create a quick, easy, and inexpensive home-made air fresheners. Don’t miss out on this awesome tutorial as it will save you money, but more importantly protect your health.
To complete this project, you are going to need: empty candle container, mason jar with a tin lid, baking soda, essential oil, screwdriver, hammer and fork.
In the first project, you are going to start with the empty candle holder. Clean it out with some soap and hot water and remove all the labels.
Pour baking soda in the jar until it’s filled up about a quarter of the way. Then, you should sprinkle 8-10 drops of the essential oil onto the baking soda. Stir it with the fork. For an added touch, nestle tea candles in the center. This home-made air freshener is perfect for the bedroom or bathroom.
For the second version, tighten the lid on the jar. Place the screw driver on the lid and then hit it with the hammer to make 5 holes in a diamond-shape pattern on the top of the lid. Proceed with the same process as with project 1.
When it is done, tighten the lid back on and you will have a slow-release air freshener for every room of the house.
