The study included 526 participants aged 20 to 83, and was conducted by researchers from the University of North Texas and Japan.
The participants had to perform the test to determine the elasticity of the body, and had previously been measured their blood pressure and elasticity of arteries and heart activity
When the study was over, the researchers found a link between the elasticity of the body and arteries, especially among participants over the age of 40.
What was happening was that those who can not reach the end of their fingers actually have claimed walls of blood vessels, indicating a worsening of the cardiovascular system, as well as increased risk of heart disease.
The Japanese researcher Dr Yamamoto: “If you can tap your toes while standing upright, you have a pretty healthy heart. But if you can do it, you may need to visit a cardiologist. ”
