Home remedies for blisters on feet

Blisters on the feet are a common problem, especially during the warmer months of the year. Unpleasant and painful blisters appear as a result of abrasion and irritation of the upper layer of the skin.

Most blisters are filled with clear liquid but can also be filled with blood or pus if inflamed and infected.

If you have a problem with blisters, these home remedies will help you quickly get rid of them.

ALOE VERA

Aloe vera is an excellent choice for dealing with blisters. This plant is rich in compounds that have anti-inflammatory properties, and therefore reduces redness and inflammation. Additionally, due to the large amount of water it contains, aloe vera allows hydration of the troubled area, which speeds up the healing process, especially if the blister is already cracked.

Put fresh aloe vera gel to the blister and leave it to dry. Then rinse with warm water. Another option is to combine aloe vera gel with oil from one capsule of vitamin E.

Green or black tea

Both black and green tea act anti-inflammatory, but green tea has more intense anti-inflammatory action. Therefore, if you have the choice, opt for green tea. In 250 milliliters of hot water, put a bag of green tea and let it stand for 5 minutes. Then leave the tea to room temperature until cool. Soak a piece of cotton in the tea and put it on a blister to stand 15 to 30 minutes. Repeat 2-3 times a day.

VITAMIN E

Vitamin E stimulates the healing process and prevents the formation of scars. Take one capsule with vitamin E and put oil capsule on the blister. Let it stand at least 30 minutes. Repeat the procedure every day.

TOOTHPASTE

Because the ingredients they contain, such as baking soda and mint, toothpaste can help patients deal with blisters. Therefore, put a little toothpaste on the affected area and let it stand for about 2 hours. Then remove it with lukewarm water and put cream for feet. Repeat 1 to 2 times a day until the blister disappears. This way enables faster drying of the blisters and reduces pain and itching.

Note: Do not put the toothpaste that is designed for whitening teeth.

Chamomile

Thanks to the ingredients that contains chamomile tea, allowing reduction of pain and swelling of the blister. Make a strong chamomile tea (in 250 milliliters of water put 2 tea bags) and leave at room temperature to cool. Take a cotton swab and soak it with chamomile tea. Place the cotton on the blister and let it stand for 10 minutes. Repeat several times a day.

Apple cider vinegar

Apple vinegar has antibacterial activity and, therefore, if the blister bursts, you can prevent infection. However, it should be noted that the placement of apple cider vinegar to blister can cause local burning sensation and redness. So if you opt for this natural cure, put a small amount of apple cider vinegar and very gently apply on the troubled area.

Turmeric

Turmeric is considered a natural antiseptic and can therefore help relieve pain, reduce inflammation and preventing the development of infection. Stir a teaspoon of turmeric with a little water to make a thick paste and homogeneous. Put the mixture on the blister, leave to stand for 10 to 15 minutes, then wash it with warm water. Repeat 2-3 times a day until the blister disappears.

Blister should NOT be cracked. But if you’re in great pain, follow these tips:

  • Thoroughly wash your hands;
  • Take a clean, unused needle;
  • Coat with alcohol;
  • Pierce the blister in the side part and allow the liquid to come out;
  • Wash the area with soap and water;
  • Put antibiotic and protect the area with a bandage or plaster;
  • Change the patch every day.

NOTE: Do not remove the upper part of the blister unless it is very dirty or the liquid that came out is festering.
